"Nobody cares": Guillermo Francos downplayed the LIBRA case again.

Chief of StaffGuillermo Francos once again defended President Javier Milei in the $LIBRA cryptocurrency scandal and asserted that most people "aren't interested in the case." The Chamber of Deputies summoned Francos, Ministers Luis Caputo of Economy and Mariano Cúneo Libarona of Justice; and Roberto Silva , head of the National Securities Commission; to testify about the Executive Branch's involvement in the scam that affected more than 40,000 investors with a total of over $4 billion.

However, Francos was the only one who attended the session. According to him, President Javier Milei "only shared public information regarding the cryptocurrency and did not participate in the project." Despite the official's insistence, several opposition legislators pointed out that Milei held meetings at the Quinta de Olivos with the cryptocurrency's creator, Hayden Davis.

During an interview on Radio Mitre, Francos downplayed the questioning in the Chamber of Deputies regarding the details of the LIBRA scandal, which involved several members of the Executive Branch. The Prime Minister reiterated that the people " don't care about what happened with LIBRA " and insisted that the session was organized by the opposition to discredit the president.

"Zero, no one cares about the LIBRA. No one saw the interpellation they made of me, except for a couple of clips that were published on social media, but the general public doesn't care," Francos stated, adding: "This was the only episode the opposition found to make any ethical point in an attempt to diminish the president's enormously positive image among Argentines ."

In another section of the interview, the Chief of Staff spoke about the legislative elections that will take place later this year, where La Libertad Avanza will seek to expand its presence in local legislatures and the National Congress. " I am convinced that we will win the October elections ," Francos stated.
